Does Medium Have Glitches?
When your Medium followers skyrocket all of the sudden
The other day, as I was reading some interesting authors that I’ve been discovering on this platform I noticed that my account was showing 719 followers when my previous count in that morning was in the 60s mark.
I am a fairly new Medium member with only 3 stories written in the last 3 or 4 weeks, and, although I’ve been following some authors and seen some are following me back, others discovering me, following me, clapping my 3 stories and having some nice chatting in the chat section it was certainly a big, a BIG (did I say ‘big’ enough?) shocking surprise to see my number of followers sky jumped like that on the same day!
I was in such disbelief, that I even open my account in different web browsers to confirm this was real. I opened my account on my Mac, on my iPhone, on my iPad…and all showed the exact same number of followers!
Lastly, I asked my brother who recently joined Medium to check my profile and see if he was also seeing the same 719 number as I was.
Yes, he said, I see 719 followers. I was ecstatic! (to say the least)
How come my 3 stories went so viral, this fast ?!
